VWA is pleased to announce:
Laura Lippman will discuss and sign her newest book, What the Dead Know, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at the Lyceum in Old Town, Alexandria, VA. Advance registration for this event is now open. All proceeds from this VWA Distinguished Author Series event go to support the Wish You Well literacy foundation. Best-selling, multiple-award-winning author Lippman's Baltimore detective Tess Monaghan has brought Charm City's mean streets to life for millions of readers.
Critics are raving about What the Dead Know:
If it is the plot that hooks us, the novel is most impressive for its characterizations, its rich details and the quality of the writing....It's an all but flawless performance by a writer at the peak of her powers.
~ Patrick Anderson
Washington PostNOTE: BRING YOUR NEW AND USED BOOKS TO THIS EVENT. As part of author David Baldacci's philanthropic work, he has established a new program entitled Feeding Body and Mind. Bring new and used books to any VWA speaker event. These books will be collected and processed through the local area food bank to needy families.
Please note: Advance event ticket sales are nonrefundable unless VWA must cancel an event due to inclement weather or other forces beyond our control.
VWA would like to thank Olsson's Books and Records
